Con Job
AIG Chief Executive Edward Liddy will face Congress today and attempt to explain the reasoning behind paying out $165 million from taxpayer bailout for executive bonuses. If the grilling of Detroit auto CEOs were any indication, Liddy will undoubtedly feel like he's sitting before a firing squad of rabid lawmakers with itchy trigger fingers. For his solace, Liddy can sigh relief he will not be disarmed by New York Times Columnist Maureen Dowd. The make-no-bones-about-it red head lashed out yesterday at all of the above, opening the flood gates of analogous commentary before the end of her first paragraph, of which was a mere sentence.
