"I Do" Shit

Eightysomethings, Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon, wed yesterday in San Francisco, California, as the state's court-approved legalization of same-sex marriage took effect. Throngs of unions populated courthouses throughout the state. Many were met with activist cheer and opponent sully.
No matter to Martin and Lyon. Their 50+ years of mansuetude and commitment finally met juncture when Mayoral boy-toy, Gavin Newsom pronounced them wife and wife(?).

“When we first got together we weren't thinking about getting married,” Ms. Lyon said before cutting a wedding cake. “I think it’s a wonderful day.”

Indeed. And shame on the homophobic hate mongers who consistently invoke the Lord's name to principal their cause. I feel it selfish, dishonorable, and ignorant. Christ preached compassion. To bear signs reading, "Homo Sex is Sin", is to cast that first stone. As Christians, we should be promoting happiness, not detracting from it. If not, it seems wasted energy; a mute judgement in spite of fact. And other heaps of alternative bullshit.

I agree. Who are we to say what should or should not make someone happy?

Hey hate mongers and homophobes: Perhaps look inward to better society and stop projecting your hate onto others. It looks bad.
