Just back from a most fantastic trip to Europe. A more proper write-up will come this weekend. Most likely in parts. In the meanwhile, a few sounds from each stop...
In Paris, Thomas Dutronc serves up soft, accessible pop. Shocking considering the predominant self involvement exhibited by a good deal of Parisians.
Guided by a gentle melody and playful composition, Jeune, Je Ne Savais Rien stands out from the really awful French Pop that currently plagues the city's music channels. I noticed so many artists trying to emulate America's current ballad craze. With the end results more songwhining than songwriting.
Shit sounds like shit no matter what language you sing it in.
