The "S" Stands for Shit

America's intemperate divide of culture, generation, and priority is challenging daily any notion of a United States. Untied is more precise. With a government so contentious in ideology, it's not a wonder an irresolute quarterback saga generates more emotion and quarrel than a sardonic presidential election. American pop culture has become mock culture. And average citizens, under leadership ripe for satire, are following suit. By focusing on lesser issues, we are finding relief in caustic, consequence free riddle. Like building a redneck Stonehenge. Or embracing Paris Hilton as a viable candidate. Monkey see, monkey doo-doo. Patronization, once synonymous with allegiance, is now a series of back-handed press releases. Obama and McCain put more energy into getting the last word than developing a genuine plan for resolve. Our country has turned into an Abbott and Costello routine. Round and round, confused, and going nowhere. I'm all for the comedic soothe, but we've been laughing for the last eight years. Time to get serious. Or risk going to the dogs.
