Like George Bush, Federico Fellini is known for blurring present with past, reality with dream, and fucking with your head. The significant difference being, Fellini knows what he's up to. Bush is just confused. I thought a lot about the Bush Administration last night while watching Fellini's 8 1/2. Especially near the end as Guido gathers everyone he has been at odds with in his life and orchestrates them into a chorus line of second guessers and hangers on. Then joins in. I imagine in Bush's sequence, it would be a line dance and when no one is looking, he escapes.
