The City of San Francisco is repositioning Treasure Island as a model for sustainable development. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the project will receive his award for Environmental and Economic Leadership in Sustainable Communities. Great news. I used to live there when it was a Naval Base and the only thing that was sustaining was the foul smell from the carcass of a large whale that floated to shore.
