Wisconsin media treats impending snowstorms like a terrorist attack, using dangerous phrases like 'snow emergency' or 'thunder snow'. These words sound more like advertising than forecasting. But if the intent is to strike fear in people, it's not working. Just look at the comments section of the Capitol Times. Mike from Sun Prairie had this to say of the latest 'threat':
Oh no....snow in Wisconsin and in december. Batten down the hatches. I am sure the grocery stores will be packed today. Hmmm, haven't dealt with this kinda crisis in about a year. Hope everyone will be ok.
