Watching Watchmen is reminiscent of watching another high ambition, sci-fi metaphysical gargantuan of an action movie - the Matrix Reloaded. After both, you know you've seen something hugely entertaining and wholly challenging, but you're not entirely sure what to make of it all. Are Watchmen's aspirations too lofty? Hard to say. This movie is too complex in its science and its fiction to digest after one viewing. It may take two or three. And even then, audiences may have to make up their own meaning and stick with it. As it stands, for me, after one, Watchmen is a jolly and bloody orgasm of 80's pop and cold war circumstance and is the most adult comic to film adaptation yet.
