808s & Hard On
Kanye West credits his success to an early age sex drive. He points to his first beat created at the age of 12 for an imagined video game loosely inspired by Super Mario Bros. as a point of reference. In the game, Kanye positions the hero as a giant penis with "little feet and eyes" who must defeat ghost vaginas. This and other all too fascinating insights into the megalomania of Kanye West can be found here.

'Tis the Season for Male Insecurity
Kanye West documents the wreckage of a male ego following an ugly breakup in 808s & Hearbreak. It is a bold transition for West. Both in terms of his production and his willingness to continue to self-disclose in spite of media backlash. But the real skinny this year on masculine subconsciousness comes from 88-Keys. His Death of Adam (executive produced by West) is a full blown concept album, whose psychosis sounds like it's being delivered on a stage to a room full of women. By an insecure MC. Fully naked. Cock in one hand, microphone in the other. And the microphone is far bigger. And all the women are laughing their asses off. It just may be the record of the year.

Kartoonye
In between blogging, Kanye West somehow finds the time to put out new music. His next album, 808s and Heartbreak, is due by Thanksgiving.
