The Appocalypse



Is the apple ready to rot for programmers hoping to cash in with a killer iPhone application? Not quite yet according to this story. However, with the continuous (and seemingly endless) stream of applications flooding Apple's premiere mobile device, the core is softening. The gargantuan amount of applications available threatens to dilute and cheapen the iPhone lifestyle. Apple should invest time and resources in forming an oversight committee to monitor this stuff and weed out the junk. Lots of the available apps are either bogus, useless, or redundant. Really, how many translation or conversion apps are needed? The iPhone is, in many respects, the digital age's symbol of efficiency. And clutter ain't no friend of efficiency's.
